This unique home is located in Forresters Beach, a suburb just outside of Gosford. Deane Poile Designs were assigned to complete the difficult task of designing this home to meet stringent regulations.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!Due to its coastal location, this home required high quality building materials that could endure wind, salt and sand. As the home backs onto a bushland reserve, the home also required BAL-40 rated products, and on some elevations, BAL-FZ solutions.
One of the major design elements for this property was that the views of the beach across the road were to be incorporated into the home. This meant that large spans of glazing were to be incorporated into designs, however, due to bushfire and energy requirements, careful consideration of building materials was essential.
To ensure views of the beach could be seen throughout the home, the designers required a high quality window and door system that allowed building requirements to be met whilst retaining unique design features.
Local aluminium window and door manufacturer AVS Windows & Doors worked closely with the designers to ensure their brief was met and the correct products were chosen for each application.
The Elevate™ Aluminium Systems range of aluminium windows and doors were used throughout the home. AVS worked closely with the designers to provide a solution for a curved wall in the home. As AVS custom make all of their windows and doors, this was easily done.
Elevate™ Series 466 motorised awning windows were used in living areas to maximise cross flow ventilation throughout the home, even where the windows were too high to operate manually.
Deane Poile Designs and AVS Windows & Doors also worked closely to find a solution to address the BAL-40 bushfire rating. Elevate™ BAL-40 rated windows and doors were used throughout the home to comply with regulations.
